The 6th installment of the CanGRC Review is available for free download from the publications page. Article topics include geothermal exploraiton of the St Lawrence Lowlands, geothermal as a viable option to the Site C hydroelectric project in BC, geothermal prospecting of geological formations in Saskatchewan, a summary of events at the DIVEX geothermal workshop and short course in Quebec City, and more.

07.12.2014 - Geothermal Sessions at the GAC-MAC-AGU Meeting

Michel Malo and Jasmin Raymond will be organizing a geothermal session at the GAC-MAC-AGU meeting in Montreal (May 3-7, 2015). Another session, organized by Tirupati Bolisetti and Denis Tanguay, will be dealing with geothermal for space-heating applications.

The "Digging Deep" CanGEA conference is being held this year in Calgary, Alberta on March 20 - 22, 2013. CanGRC's Co-Founders and members of its Board of Directors will be there, so be sure to track us down to say hi. CanGEA is encouraging students to attend this year with a special $75 registration rate for students that submit an approved grant application. 02.06.2012 - New M.Sc. and Ph.D. Opportunities for Geothermal Research in Canada

The Department of Civil and Geological Engineering at the Unviersity of Saskatchewan has opportunities for students at the M.Sc. and Ph.D. level in the area of geothermal energy. Specific areas of study include assessment of geothermal energy potential in the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, assessment of geothermal energy relative to other subsurface energy developments and characterization of thermal springs. The Canadian GeoExchange Coalition will be hosting the 5th National GeoExchange Technical and Policy Forum on December 7-8 at the Hilton Suites in Toronto/Markham, Ontario.
